New game for Oculus Rift headsets: Immersive real estate tours
Virtual reality platforms like Oculus Rift are known for their video games. But one startup is bringing it to a new field: real estate marketing.
Seattle-based design company Studio216, which also has offices in San Francisco and Shanghai, is developing 3-D virtual tours that give prospective buyers and renters an intimate perspective on unbuilt properties.
In San Francisco, Studio216 is working with the Park Tower near Transbay Terminal, a glass office and retail building developed by the John Buck Co. The 700,000-square-foot building won’t be completed until 2018, but potential tenants can use Studio216’s programs to get virtual view of what it may be like working there.
