Villa Mondragone in augmented reality: The 2015 calendar

This project “Villa Mondragone in augmented reality” was born from the collaboration of THE ROUND and the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, on the initiative of Professor Franco Giannini (President of the Degree in Electronic Engineering, Director of Department, Vice Rector for International Affairs). The project is divided into several parts that will be released from time to time. In this video we see the 2015 calendar, with images of the splendid Villa di Mondragone (Monte Porzio Catone, Rome) in augmented reality.

The UHP spin-off is based on the skills and knowledge (know-how) of the University Staff in Electromagnetics and High Frequency Power Amplification to generate intellectual products  and develop products for  both domestic and international with its own technology of Microelectronics and precision Mechanics and provides services with case studies of prototypes and industrial products related to both active and passive components.

THE ROUND has developed AR apps for “UHP spin off” (you can see, for example, James Clerk Maxwell recites a short poem) and a location based AR app for visitors and congress participants in Rome for European Microwave Conference 2014 EuMW 2014. Augmented reality apps are available to both smartphones and smart glasses.

EuMW 2014 will be held in the extraordinary and beautiful ‘Eternal City’ of Rome. Bringing industry, academia and commerce together, European Microwave Week 2014 is a SIX day event, including THREE cutting edge conferences and ONE exciting trade and technology exhibition featuring leading players from across the globe.

The Verdi musical path, through augmented reality, represents a playful and dynamic art experience, bringing the visitor / spectator out of his shell, pushing him to multimedia interaction. The exhibition rooms come alive, are filled with lyrical music (on demand) and the performers of the Byod turn from picture to painting pausing to listen to or grasp the movements that timidly emerge from the canvases. The works are not only amplified through the sound but come to life, they move. In other words they are animated, through music and movement, creating a performance that superimposes real elements to synthetics, altering the original work of art.
